Local Heroes Awards Sponsored by the Pallasades

The Pallasades have sponsored these awards with the Birmingham Mail since 2002 to highlight Local Heroes in and around Birmingham.

This year The Birmingham Mail has teamed up with the Pallasades and Royal Mail to offer you the opportunity to pay tribute to someone you think deserves to be honoured for an award. You can nominate a family member, friend, neighbour, community group or charity.
Each month, a panel of judges will select the best, bravest and most deserved winner. The winner will receive £100 and will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony in October in honour of their achievements.

Write in no more than 200 words why you are nominating your Local Hero?

There will also be two special categories for Charity of the Year and Community Group of the Year. Both of these will be selected by our panel of judges.

Jonathan Cheetham, general manager for The Pallasades, says: “It’s great to once again be part of such a worthy and deserving award scheme, which showcases some wonderful stories of local people going above and beyond the call of duty to help others.

“At The Pallasades we pride ourselves on getting involved with local community campaigns and projects and have therefore supported the Local Heroes Awards for nine years. Each year we are delighted to hear about the exceptional dedication or bravery demonstrated by the nominees and winners in each category. I’m therefore looking forward to hearing about what our 2010 Local Heroes have achieved.”
